[Bearbeiten] Plot summary
[Bearbeiten] Characters involved
- Alan
- Nurse
- Dysart
[Bearbeiten] Plot
When Dysart arrives his office he picks up a letter from Alan. Alan reveals Dysart that everything he said in this room was true. This declaration refers to scene 24, in which Alan says that all what he has told him is a lie. Dysart wants to talk to him even though it is late at night, because Alan sits still in front of the TV.
[Bearbeiten] Interpreation
With the words "It is all true, what I said after you tapped the pencil" he wants to say that he trusts Dysart and told him the truth. He is not saying that but he wrote a letter because it is the easier way to communicate. "I know why I am here" shows that Alan is aware of his situation and wants to talk with somebody about his problems.
