Jill starts to tell about her father. He ran off when she was a young girl. Her mother has a strong bias to the opposite sex. So Jill has to date boys secretly. Jill wants to go out with him. First Alan is evasive, but then she persuades him to go to the movies.

In addition Jill calls attention to eyes because she read an article saying what points about boys fascinate girls - they said it is bottoms. But she thinks it is eyes every time. Besides she says Alan is fascinated at horse's eyes - he stares into the eyes for ages (compare p.74).

Alan stops talking because he decides to go to bed. However, Dysart wants him to keep telling of the date in the cinema.
