Questions on text are a major task in the subject English. The shortform of Questions on text is Qot. The concept is very simple: The teacher gets you a text and a few questions, your task is to answer the questions. Don't worry about that fact as long as your teacher isn't a CIA agent :-)
If you want to answer well, you should keep a simple plan in mind:

1. Look at the title, subtitle and introduction of the text.
   What's the text about?
2. Read the questions carefully.
   Note a keyword which is being asked
3. Read the text.
   Underline the most important words which belong to the questions. Note a keyword for each paragraph
4. Take notes related to the questions.
   e.g. Keywords, important nouns, verbs, adjectives
5. Elaborate (ausarbeiten) the answers in your own words.
   Watch out for mistakes and bad grammar!
